Last Chance Shop Stops
If you’re in the area and you haven’t heard about the Brooklyn Night Bazaar yet, then your missing out! With over 100 independent vendors, delicious food, and live music it’s a holiday market Brooklyn style!
The range of gift giving you could do here is outstanding. Intricate designs, art, graphic tees, furniture, jewelry, clothing, accessories, and much, much more. I truly enjoyed making an evening of it at the bazar. Although I only ended up with treats for myself. Bacon wrapped scallops, avocado fries, and beautiful feather hair piece.
Beyond the bazaar this season I also found some great vendors at the many NYC pop up shops! Check them out for some great gifts for your family, friends, or yourself!

Naked Painting Party
The title says it all. An art project that at first I didn’t think I could be apart of but my curiosity took over and so last week I attended THE NAKED PAINTING PARTY at Gallery Bar in NYC. I’m so happy I went!
Yes, a room full of naked strangers sounds awkward and it was, but when you douse them all in paint the focus becomes less about the naked people and more about the social experience. Although, I did not fully participate in the nudity, it was still an unreal experience to be apart of. The interactions, the art, and all the shapes and sizes of humanity was worth the strip down. We’re talking about a spectrum of all age ranges, races, experienced nudist mixed with the unprepared folk who stumbled across the party after happy hour, and even a pregnant woman. I am proud to say I went!

How Lauren Sees It

As you scroll down I want you to know, no, I didn’t just go through someones trash and take pictures of the contents. Look closer. Everyday things made from embroidered bridal organza and cotton. Lauren Dicioccio creates beautiful pieces of art with a statement.

In Wonderland
I love these images of Alice Pasquini wall art. She brightens up any surface with a story.
“I create art about people and their relationships, I’m interested in
representing human feelings and exploring different points of view.
I especially like to depict strong and independent women”
Hearts Aroar

Using a stream of consciousness technique Nargus Harounzadeh takes vivid color and a multitude of textures to build layers of expression. As a yoga therapist and a plant-based nutritionist she strives to encourage others to use art as therapy. Nargus is working toward her PhD in psychology with a focus on the interplay between nutrition, mindfulness techniques, and mental health outcomes.
Her solo art exhibition, “HEARTS AROAR”, will be held on the Atelier Rooftop [635 W 42 ST; New York, NY] this Thursday, June 21, 2012
from 7.30-9.30PM. With a performance from Derek Lucci and Rohme Giuliano of Troika. Join in on an evening of great art, music, cocktails, and one of the best views of New York City. RSVP.
Biocouture
Sustainable fashion is the way of the future and those who care are trying their hardest to find the next best thing. Suzanne Lee is one of those designers. She has gone outside of the box in hopes to revolutionize the textile industry with her cellulose-spinning bacteria. With a little bit of yeast, bacteria, and green tea she is able to grow cloth (feeling of vegetable leather) that once draped, and dried, over a dress becomes a seamless design.
Currently on display in London’s Science Museum as part of the Trash Fashion: Designing out of waste is Suzanne Lee’s Biocouture Bio Ruff jacket. Although her designs are not yet commercially available, Suzanne will continue to design her beautiful pieces and research to make the biomaterial more durable.

Morocco Here I Come
For some time now, I have wanted to experience Morocco and all it has to offer. The time has come, that I finally booked my trip! I am beyond excited to see the city of Marrakech, go camping in the desert, enjoy the food, be inspired by the colors, and much much more. These are some of the beautiful images from FROM ME TO YOU that have one source of my inspiration to take this adventure.
Have these pictures also inspired you?!
